WORD OF THE DAY - Friday 12 February 2010

I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus. (Acts 20:21 NIV)

Everlasting God, our Dear Heavenly Father ~ Thank you for the splendor of this new day as we contemplate the extremely high value of life with your constant care and guidance. Give us courage and wisdom so that we will continue the work begun by our Lord of testifying about our faith to all people in the world so that they will also believe and obey Christ as Lord. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
Photo: Last month in Nikolaev, Ukraine we studied the Bible with one of our English students using the World English Institute material. Our students come to us already knowing English that they studied in school, but never had the opportunity to use it in everyday conversation. They are very pleased with improving their English while learning about the Bible that they never had time or opportunity to learn while growing up in the former Soviet Union which was officially atheistic. God willing, this coming Lord's Day – the 14th, we plan to meet with some people at the North Atlanta Church of Christ who are involved with missions and report about our work. The following Sunday - the 21st, I am invited to speak at the Dalraida church on Sunday night during a special "Missions Sunday." Then, on February 28th, we have been invited to be with the Old Jefferson church in Smyrna, Tennessee. They want me to preach Sunday morning and teach an adult Bible class, then during a fellowship meal they want to learn more from us about our recent work in Nikolaev. We are in the process of getting Galina’s visa for Ukraine. It is possible to visit Ukraine for up to 90 days with only your U.S. Passport. However, if you plan to be in the country for longer than that, they require you to have a visa. Mine does not expire until 2012, but Galina’s will expire soon. With all the weather related problems in the Washington, D.C. area, we are experiencing some delays with this process since we deal with the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington. We are still planning to return to our work in Nikolaev around the 20th of March. Thank you very much for your constant prayers.
