WORD OF THE DAY - Saturday 26 June 2010

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place which he would later receive as an inheritance, and he went out, not knowing where he was going. (Hebrews 11:8)

Our Dear Father in Heaven ~ Thank you for the precious and mysterious gift of life that emanates from your life that exists forever and ever. Give us stronger faith like that of your servant Abraham as we learn more about Jesus your only Son and become obedient to his perfect example and teaching. Help those who are flirting with witchcraft, sorcery and other ancient forms of disobedience to repent while they have time and accept the rule of Jesus Christ as their Master in all things. As Abraham had to leave such a culture behind, give us wisdom as we consider that Christ is the new and only way for all people today. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Photos: On our last day in Slavyansk, Galina's mama went out in the garden about 05.00 in the morning and chose us the best raspberries for our last day of feasting from her abundant crop. She presented them to me as I was doing my morning Bible reading and study.
Sonya has one last day to help take care of the animals. I think they are missing her little talks and petting.
Our train didn't leave Donetsk until 10.30 Thursday night, which gave some time to explore the facility.
In one of the many Ukrainian villages, some farmers flock of geese getting fattened up on the byway alongside the long rail line on the way to Kherson.
A typical farming community that we passed on the beautiful ride from Donetsk back to Nikolaev
Our train stops briefly in Apostolov, a small Ukrainian city named in honor of one of the apostles of our Lord. Could it have been the apostle Paul? He traveled far and wide proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. In Kherson there are archaeological excavations going on of ancient Greek ruins. There are also some old ruins of communities from the era of ancient Greece in and around Nikolaev. Today we have an appointment with Olamide our newest convert and we plan to review the many lessons that he has completed even during the time of his final exams at the Maritime University.
