WORD OF THE DAY - Saturday 03 July 2010 from Nikolaev, Ukraine

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. (Luke 6:36)

Итак, будьте милосерды, как и Отец ваш милосерд. (От Луки 6:36 Russian)

Будьте ж милосердні, як і Отець ваш милосердний! (Лука 6:36 Ukrainian)

O LORD, our Dear Heavenly Father ~ Thank you for blessing us with the precious gift of life on another day of new beginnings. Give us more of your perfect wisdom as we follow Jesus’ command to have mercy on others. Help us to reflect upon the sins we’ve committed and been forgive for as we resolve to forgive others of even lesser imperfections. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Photo: During a Bible study this week we discussed the Old Testament and the New Testament with the purpose of learning which one Christians are under today. Since one of our members has a background among 7th Day Adventists, some questions keep coming back up. At the conclusion of this first lesson, she exclaimed, "why don't they teach what the Bible says?" Of course, God's word is always clear and understandable when we are searching for the truth. Yesterday we shopped at the large Metro market for some items to give to the boys at the Boy's Home this coming Monday. Margarita asked us to come on a day besides Saturday since they do not have workers there on Saturdays during the summer vacation period. We are pleased that we have our usual opportunities to serve Christ here in Ukraine as we ask, seek and knock for one more soul who is interested in eternal life. Thanks for your prayers.
