WORD OF THE DAY - Monday 09 November 2009

For godly sorrow produces repentance with no regret that leads to salvation; but the sorrow of the world produces death. (2 Corinthians 7:10)

Ибо печаль ради Бога производит неизменное покаяние ко спасению, а печаль мирская производит смерть. (2-е Коринфянам 7:10 Russian)

Great and Mighty God, our Kind and Forgiving Father in Heaven ~ Thank you for the uplifting awareness of your Spirit in our lives as we obey Christ as Lord. Give us wisdom and stronger faith so that we will be keenly aware of our nature and your holiness. Forgive us of our sins as we truly repent and open our hearts to others who have offended us. Give us a lucid idea of the future splendor of eternity so that we will not regret an old life of sin. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

The nationwide media induced panic seems to have an impact on church attendance and other public gatherings. (my opine) Due to the flu scare, people are encouraged to wear masks or avoid public gatherings. However, we had 6 for worship yesterday and promise from others to attend our nightly meetings this week. The university has just basically shut down along with the public schools. This is the first time I have experienced anything like this. But, maybe the quarantine will have its intended effect and help slow down the spread of the latest influenza virus. Following worship, we had a little time to visit with each other over tea and coffee. We have much activity planned for this week that will help us to hopefully come in contact with more truth seekers. We will begin offering Free English classes and see how that works in attracting people to study with us. Thanks for the prayers!
