WORD OF THE DAY - Sunday 08 November 2009

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his abundant mercy has fathered us again to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3)

Благословен Бог и Отец нашего Господа Иисуса Христа! По своей великой милости Он, благодаря воскресению Иисуса Христа из мертвых, дал нам новую жизнь в живой надежде. (1-e Петра 1:3 SZ)

Most Holy and Righteous God, our Dear Father in Heaven ~ Thank you for this new Lord’s Day and the opportunities that believers have to assemble in Christ’s name. We are astonished at the magnitude of your kindness that makes it possible for us to be your children with the highest hope even after we have wandered away in the darkness of sin. Give those who have not yet received Christ the courage to obey His gospel message. Be with us today as we give our unabashed love for Jesus Christ in our worship. We bring this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.

Today our hearts and minds are with the church in Magadan as they assemble for worship. We fondly recall assembling with the newly established Magadan Church of Christ fifteen years ago.
In 1994, the congregation was meeting in the House of Culture - Trade Union that is situated close to the intersection of Lenin and Karl Marx streets. We met there for the first two years, then thanks to God, we found the present location a couple of blocks down Karl Marx Street. God has blessed the church in Magadan during some very difficult days. We have much to be thankful for and our hearts burst with love as we think about our dear brothers and sisters in Christ as they assemble today in the Northern Far East of Russia.
Today in Nikolaev, we are blessed to have a nice place to meet where we are accepted and even encouraged in our work of teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Thank you for the prayers and your participation in helping evangelize the Former Soviet Union where so many cities, towns and villages still have no church of any kind.
