WORD OF THE DAY - Sunday 01 November 2009

“Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy. All nations shall come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” (Revelation 15:4)

Кто не убоится Тебя, Господи, и не прославит имени Твоего? ибо Ты един свят. Все народы придут и поклонятся пред Тобою, ибо открылись суды Твои. (Откровение 15:4 Russian)

O Lord God, our Dear Heavenly Father ~ We come humbly into your splendid presence on this new Lord’s Day to express our highest praise for you alone are worthy. We firmly believe that someday people from all nations will open their frozen mouths to honor you because there is no one else like you. Bless Christians around the world as we assemble in sweet communion to honor our risen Lord Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
I came across this photo of Galina with Olga's son Dima in Magadan. That was in 2004 when I was not permitted to receive a visa to Russia. Now he is a young man about a foot taller than he was then and he does an excellent job of leading the singing along with occasionally teaching a class. Our brother Vasily (in horizontal stripes) has been doing the preaching while Ivan is away on vacation. I have received reports that his lessons from God's word are encouraging to the church. Yesterday here in Nikolaev we concentrated our energy on preparing our meeting place for today and the coming days. We (most Galina) cleaned and straightened everything up and rearranged the newly acquired furniture. The Swine Flu scare has the population of Ukrainian afraid and the officials are taking strong measures. I had an appointment at a local school to meet with some 9th graders, and the teacher told me yesterday that they are part of this nationwide month long quarantine. I haven't heard yet if the university will also be in that mode. In any case, it will just allow us more time to concentrate our efforts where we are. Perhaps I will have some time to launch some fresh advertising to appeal to those interested in studying English. It seems to be a very popular thing here. We did that in Magadan many moons ago with successful results.
