WORD OF THE DAY - Thursday 09 September 2010 from Mykolayiv, Ukraine

We had our second session yesterday with our new WEI student. Katerina completed her Introductory lesson and we had a great discussion from the text about the two sons in Luke 15. Earlier in the day, we made arrangements with the shipping company that had received our shipment from Eastern European Missions - EEM, to deliver the boxes to us at the church's meeting place. We have a storage room where we store our Bibles, books and other literature. This was very convenient since we didn't have to take a trip to their warehouse to receive this shipment. It is always exciting to restock our library with material that will help souls find the Way of salvation. Later in the evening, we spent time going through everything to determine what we have not received. We are very grateful to those who make donations to EEM since these valuable Bibles and literature are supplied to missionaries and churches free of charge. We also received several new calls yesterday as a result of our advertisements. One was most encouraging. The man started out by saying, "I want to study the Bible and also English." I wanted to say, "Come right in!" - but we were on the phone. One of our afternoon appointments postponed her appointment until Friday due to the heavy rains most of the day yesterday. Of course we are very thankful for the rains and all God's blessings. Thank you for the fervent prayers.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. (Philippians 2:3 NIV)
(Filipenses 2:3 NVI)

Most Great and Powerful God, our Dear Father in Heaven ~ Thank you for the splendid blessings that grace our lives on this new day and the gift of such a magnificent Savior. Give us wisdom as we work to improve relations among faithful followers of Christ by considering other Christians as more important than even our own lives. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
