WORD OF THE DAY - 13 May 2010

But without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

Our Dear Heavenly Father ~ Thank you for the gift of life on this new day that greets us with the warmth of your loving care for all creation. We come boldly into your presence asking that you will grant us wisdom so that we will make the proper choices today regarding what is truly important for us to expend our energies. We are helpless without the guidance of your perfect word. Open doors of opportunity for us so that we may have meaningful dialog with other people who sincerely seek your intervention in our affairs. We pray in the name of Christ who came to show us the Way. Amen.

Yesterday we had another day filled with activities that we sincerely believe will result in fruit for the Kingdom. Beginning at 3.00 we had back to back individual studies in the afternoon leading right into our evening Bible study meeting with the church. It was a little difficult, but everyone is so interested in learning more about God's word. Two of the studies were with our WEI students - Natasha and Olamide. Natasha continues to make progress in learning about the importance of pleasing God. Olamide is working at a very fast pace with the English studies. He has already completed the first two WEI books and is starting on the third with hunger for more. He does all this while preparing for exams and participating in football practice. We were all very happy that our brother Nikolai Tkhor returned from his visit to Donetsk. Since he was there on Sunday, he was able to worship with the congregation where Alexander Prokopchuk preaches. During the worship, our brother Nikolai was asked to lead the church in the opening prayer. Alexander introduced him and told about the church here in Nikolaev. We had 8 people who remained for the evening Bible study and prayer meeting. Today we have a similar schedule with several appointments penciled in my Day-Timer. Thank you for the numerous prayers and words of encouragement that help us realize how blessed we are to have you as a partner in the harvest field.
