WORD OF THE DAY - Tuesday 11 May 2010

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness. (Galatians 3:6)

Так Авраам поверил Богу, и это вменилось ему в праведность. (К Галатам 3:6 Russian)

Так як Авраам був увірував в Бога, і це залічено за праведність йому. (Галатяни 3:6 Ukrainian)

Eternal and Majestic God, our Dear Heavenly Father ~ Thank you for awakening us on this new day with fresh hopes for realizing rewards that accompany a life of faith. Give us stronger faith as we become even more familiar with Christ whom you sent to show us the way to eternal life. Help us to reject the notion that we can somehow earn a place in Heaven by our ineffective efforts to become experts at keeping the Law. We pray in the name of Jesus in whom we trust for eternal life, Amen.

Photo: Yesterday was the Monday off for the May 9 holiday. People were not taking things very seriously. We noticed that we had lost some of the momentum we had going for us prior to our brief trip to be with Galina's mother and other family members. Sometimes it is good to be forced to change gears and get a better grip on our methods. One appointment wanted to reschedule, and another canceled. That is often par for the course, but we are not playing golf. Our work of spreading the Good News is vital to the lives of every person we encounter. Since we were out of town on Saturday, we moved our time to be at the Boys Home to this afternoon at 3.00. We hope that we can pick up some more shoes by that time since our vendor only had 5 pair the other day. We previously heard that we are expected to be back at the University on the 13th, but we have not yet had a confirmation. Thank you for the prayers to God regarding this particular area of the Lord's harvest field. As we walked home yesterday evening from our church meeting place, we noticed some more beautiful flowering shrubs that are abundant everywhere on the streets of Nikolaev. Galina called the name in Russian that is the word for bride.
