WORD OF THE DAY - 14 May 2010

He that rejects me, and does not receive my words, has one that judges him; the word that I have spoken, the same will judge him in the last day. (John 12:48)

Most Holy and Awesome God, our Dear Heavenly Father ~ We welcome you into our lives on this new day that radiates with powerful evidence of your eternal existence and continuing care. Give wisdom to the leaders of all countries so that they will allow a place for the truth that has been given to all people by Jesus Christ. Give courage, strength and patience to faithful Christians who live in countries where the teaching of Christ is rejected. Help all of us to realize that you will not judge us by our personal opinions, but by the truth contained in your word. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Thursday was busy with individual Bible studies right up until time for our evening Bible study. Nadya, who is a student at the university, came for her first session in the WEI courses. She is a bright and hard working young woman who grew up with Ukrainian as her native tongue. The university primarily uses Russian and she is about to graduate with degrees in English and German from their 5 year program. Her husband also studies at the university and works doing remodeling work in the many older buildings and houses in the area. They have a little girl and all that keeps these young folks jumping. She needed to get home and could not stay for our meeting. Our studies with Olamide continue to help him in his knowledge of English and primarily his growth as a young Christian. In our evening Bible study, we began a study using the book published by Truth for Today, "Becoming a Faithful Christian." This study will help our people to learn how to use this and other resources in teaching others the way of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We thought that Friday might allow for a little free time - but we somehow have 5 appointments. Well, we are always asking God to bless us with one more person to teach about His love. God is good!
