WORD OF THE DAY - 15 May 2010

Masters, give your bondservants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven. (Colossians 4:1)

Most Holy and Righteous God, our Dear Heavenly Father ~ Thank you for this new day and the mysterious gift of life that comes from your graciousness. Give all believers a greater sense of fairness toward those we may hire or be responsible for supervising. Help us to broadcast your eternal wisdom so that the entire world will see the advantage of living according to your just and merciful principles. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Friday was another busy day with several individual study appointments. Each of our WEI students continues to enjoy their study of English using the Bible. Some students begin such a study and then drop off after they realize that we use the Bible as a reading text. This is disappointing, but does not discourage us because we are sowing the seeds that will bring fruit. Perhaps it will be much later in their life when they see spiritual things in a better light. NEWS: Yesterday we heard from our travel agent in Atlanta that we can purchase tickets to Magadan at a price that is within our budget. Previous quotes have been out of the question, and we have postponed this trip long enough. Our visas to Russia expire on 15 June 2010. We purchased tickets to depart Moscow next week and be with the Magadan brethren next Lord's Day - 23 May. We plan to be with them for 4 Sundays. After we were sure about our plane tickets, we went to the train station yesterday evening and bought our tickets for the 28 hour ride to Moscow. Part of the time is that we must cross an international border between Ukraine and Russia. This causes some delay. We are very excited about this trip because we have not visited Magadan since November 2008. Our two brothers Nikolai Gagarkin and Nikolai Tkhor are capable of keeping things going here in our absence. This will serve as another opportunity for the young church here in Nikolaev to grow in the faith without my presence. I look forward to another opportunity of preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in the northern Far East of Russia. Magadan is the chief city in this region and the church there is a beacon of hope for many people. Thank you in advance for the prayers regarding our travel and the church here while we are away.
