WORD OF THE DAY - Tuesday 23 May 2010

Thus says the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches. (Jeremiah 9:23)

9:23 [9:22] Ukrainian Bible)

Great and Mighty God, our Dear Heavenly Father ~ Thank you for this splendid new day that bursts forth with fresh evidence of your unmatched generosity in the manner that you provide for our present life and the future rewards to those who believe and obey Christ. Give us more of your unfathomable wisdom that is far greater than all the worldly wisdom that temporarily exists in all the virtual clouds of human storage capabilities. Give us leaders who will not be sick with lust for more power and forgive us for trusting in the fickle wealth of this world that will not help us on the last day of our life on this earth. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Yesterday we attempted to meet some people on the streets and give them an invitation to our meetings. Most people were out on the holiday enjoying the beautiful spring weather here in Ukraine. The fresh scent of lilacs greets us as we walk out the door of our apartment building. We didn't have much success with getting any new students, and we will go back to our plan of putting our little ads on telephone posts, and other spots that the locals use to advertise trips to the Crimea, houses for sale or rent, cars for sale and other such things. This method has garnered us a few people that we have studied with. We have two students today who will study English using the Bible. We always want more students, but then we will need more people to teach them. But, there are always cancellations and other matters that come up, so it is good to always have more students in the pipeline than we can get to. We can always shuffle our schedules around. Thank you for your constant encouragement and prayers for this work of spreading the blessed gospel of Jesus Christ.
